The Lilleyman family.
John and Carol Lilleyman purchased Amberly Farm in 2012 as a retirement project. Not knowing anything about farming (John coming from a background in software engineering and Carol in the care sector), they quickly learned of the importance of land care and restorative farming - and it was here that the philosophy of regenerative agriculture became planted into the family as more than just a responsibility - but a lifestyle, a commitment, and a purpose.
After introducing pasture-raised chickens to improve soil health in 2017 (a venture led by their youngest son Adam), in a few shorts years the Lilleymans went from hand-washing and packing eggs for the Sunday markets to growing a loyal following for Amberly Farm and their much-loved eggs - often described by the locals as eggs that “you can tell come from happy chickens”.
Fast forward to 2024, the Lilleyman siblings - Elise, Adam and Guy came together to offer a new way to shop local and support their local community - The Amberly Micro-Market. Located at the farm-gate, the micro-market is designed to be a small scale Farmer’s Market, offering selected goods that fit Amberly’s ethos of being sustainable, ethical, and having low food miles.
With plenty of plans for the future of Amberly Farm, the Lilleymans will continue to honour their commitment - leaving the land better than when they found it.
