Unfortunately, we cannot accept old egg cartons/trays back to reuse. Please recycle them in your curb side bin.

We are currently unable to take on new wholesale customers as we are currently at capacity. If this changes in future, we will announce this on our socials/via our mailing list.

Unfortunately, we can’t facilitate farm visits at the moment due to the ongoing risk of avian bird flu. However if you continue driving past the micro-market you can observe the dogs and hens from over the fence at anytime of the year.

We have 9 Maremma’s on Amberly that make up our chicken security team. They protect our chickens from predators such as foxes and other intruders.

Eggs

Our eggs are pastured free range, which means our hens roam free over more than 100 acres of land with no fencing. Pasture-raised means that each hen has access to at least 108 square feet of land all day and are cared for using regenerative farming methods - in our case, we use a rotational grazing method. This means our hens and their houses (where they perch at night) are moved to different areas of the farm regularly to ensure continuous ground cover for the hens to graze, whilst allowing the previous area of vegetation to recover. This method also allows hens to behave naturally; i.e foraging for bugs, seeds and worms and frolicking in the sun (or shade, if they prefer).

Under Australian laws, eggs labelled as free-range must come from hens that have "meaningful and regular access" to an outdoor range during daylight hours and be free to roam and forage outside. The maximum outdoor stocking density by law is 10,000 hens per hectare/one hen per square metre. This means there is less of a distinction between how much actual space each hen gets and how much time they are able to spend outside. This can really vary from farm to farm, and one hen per square metre can get crowded. Pastured-free range egg farms focus on stocking lower densities, and provide each hen even more space to roam (minimum approximately 10 square metres per hen), whilst regenerating the land. A cage free eggs system is where the hens live entirely within an indoor barn environment - but not in cages. Unlike free range or pastured free range, cage free hens don’t have the opportunity to go outside. them.

Microgreens & Herbs

Microgreens are a young, edible plant harvested just after the first true leaves have developed. Microgreens are grown from a variety of vegetable, herb, or grain seeds and are used as a flavourful and nutrient-dense ingredient.

Add them as a garnish to any meal, blend into smoothies or green drinks or enjoy as a super-nutrient salad!

Studies have shown that microgreens contain concentrated nutrients compared to their mature counterpart. Think of them as a flavour-packed and easy way to boost your nutrient intake.

Yes, please bring them back to the micro-market or drop them off to use at the south-side farmers market on Sunday.

We recognize and pay respect to the Ngunnawal people, the traditional custodians of the ACT. We honour their enduring bond with the land and their invaluable contribution to its preservation for countless generations.
